Breeding Season Okavango Delta Photo Tour - 3 - 14 December 2012
From USD$8450 per person sharing
December in the Okavango is the height of the breeding season. The pre season rains have caused a green flush in the plant life, but more importantly, it triggers the animal kingdom into a frenzy of activity. Migrant birds arrive and start courting with their beautiful calls, impalas drop their young en masse and other mammals start their calving. With such an abundance of life, the predators are in fine fettle too. Hunting is easier and with many of them having young, they are actively out hunting. Expect an atmosphere of activity in the Okavango on this safari. Your camera will be working overtime to capture all the beauty this unique delta has to offer.
Masai Mara Predators - 11 February 2012 - 18 February 2012
From USD$3950 per person sharing*
The Masai Mara is of course most famous for the river crossings of the wildebeest across the Mara. However, what many people don’t realise is that this is the predator capital of Africa. No where else is the lion density higher or the cheetah numbers higher. 4 resident leopard are known to reside within 10 minutes from our camp and of course the hyenas in the Mara are famous for their clean up acts. And why January for the predator tour? Well, its just after the short rains and the grass is nice and green but still short; most of the predators have young now, which allows for some intimate images of cubs and pups and of course quite importantly, there is very little tourist traffic around. So we will have much of the area to ourselves.
Gorilla Photo Tour - 3 March 2012 - 6 March 2012
From USD$3550 per person sharing*
There are some experiences in life that simply cannot be explained and can only be experienced in the flesh. Tracking Mountain Gorillas through high altitude bamboo forest and finally glimpsing these gentle giants is one such experience! Perhaps it is their impressive size, with silverback males weighing in at two hundred kilograms, or perhaps it is their close genetic link to humans? Perhaps it is their highly endangered conservation status but whatever the reason, an encounter with these gentle giants transcends the physical and touches one on a much deeper level.
Predators of the Serengeti - 11 – 20 March 2012
